I’m off to work out… gotta get home to do sub plans for when I’m administering the test to some 4th graders this week! Hope y’all had a great Monday… get some rest, my sweet friends!
Oh my goodness… it was definitely a Monday for me today! This week is going to be all kinds of crazy with state testing. Definitely already looking forward to Friday 🙂
We started learning about adverbs today, and let me just tell you that it was a lot easier said than done! When we were generating sentences, I got several that were just like this: “My dog is kindly. I am nicely. The calmly student was in class.” BUT, it was our first day, so that made me feel a l.i.t.t.l.e better.
I made a chart with the things that we will mostly focus on in class. This chart is not one of my favorites, but it got the job done 🙂
Then, I gave each student 4 adverbs that they had to put into sentences. After I checked their sentences, they copied them to make a little adverb tree. This tree pattern is from my Main Idea unit. I will tell you that I have SEVERAL students that are not finished yet… like I said this concept was easier said than done! We will definitely continue working on adverbs for the next few days.
