Noun Town

I really enjoy planning my lessons in advance, like the control-freak inside of me gets pure joy when I’m weeks ahead of the game.  But, sometimes, impromptu ideas and activities are the best.  Do you follow Sarah Cooley from First Grader… At Last on instagram?  If not, you totally should!  I love how she includes her kiddos in the making of their charts.  I’ve done tons of charts like that in the past, but none this year 🙁  Her pictures inspired me to have my kiddos make nouns charts right away!
So, that’s what we did today!  And, can I just say that I am IN LOVE with how they turned out.  I mean, we’ve got Santa Claus, hands, radio towers, Reunion Tower, Wal-Mart, Rapunzel, shells, and so much more on our Noun Charts!  They definitely thought of a lot more nouns than I ever would have!
The “Place” chart is my favorite!
And, check out these incredible drawings… I’m blown away!

Just one more reason why I love following my favorite bloggers on instagram, facebook, pinterest, and more!
I also spent a little QT with my chart paper and marker tub.  Coloring just relaxes me… it’s good for my soul 🙂
You might have seen my Author’s Purpose chart for persuading HERE.  Well, I had to make charts for the other 2 as well.  So, here those are…
When we were discussing writing to entertain, we had a lot of fun with “Where the Wild Things Are.”  You can download this activity HERE 🙂
For a short week, we’ve been pretty busy!  Only one more day until I *finally* get some rest!  TGI almost F!
